Tim began training with coach Paul Blodgett at age 12, while also working with him and assisting in training sessions as an assistant throughout high school. Tim grew up playing soccer in the Basking Ridge area and later began playing for Jersey United Soccer Club. In High School, Tim played for Seton Hall Preparatory School. As a junior, Tim won the Super Essex County Conference, the Essex County Tournament, and the Non-Public Group A State Championship. As a senior, Seton Hall Prep was ranked the number one high school team in the US, as well as winning the Super Essex County Conference and Essex County Tournament for the second year in a row. After high school, Tim attended The University of Scranton where he had a successful playing career. Tim holds a USSF license to coach youth soccer.
